Dr. Melissa Northwood is a CIHR Health Systems Impact Fellow with the SE Research Centre and the University of Waterloo. Her research interests include integrating standardized assessments into interprofessional home-care team practice, identifying community nursing interventions to improve care for older adults with multiple chronic conditions and their caregivers, and understanding the complexity of delivering and facilitating integrated care in the context of Ontario’s rapidly changing health-care system. Melissa completed her PhD in Nursing at McMaster University. Melissa has practiced as an advance practice nurse in acute care, complex care, and most recently home care, and is certified in gerontological nursing.
