Dr. Alzahra Hudani is an experienced health services researcher and public health professional who is driven to improve access to coordinated care for equity-deserving populations, both in Canada and globally. She has successfully led community-based and patient-oriented research projects using qualitative methods, mixed-methods, and design thinking tools. Over the past 10 years, she has led a broad spectrum of health research in the following areas: global health; maternal, newborn and child health; adolescent health; health systems strengthening; gender-based violence; and youth homelessness. Alzahra holds a Bachelor of Science (Life Sciences) from McMaster University, Masters in Public Health from Queen’s University and a PhD in Population Health from the University of Ottawa. For her doctoral research, Alzahra explored healthcare coordination between the emergency youth shelter and health systems for youth experiencing homelessness in Toronto, particularly through a systems thinking and organizational change lens. At the SE Research Centre, Alzahra will use her mixed-methods research skills to support the design, implementation and mobilization of participatory research aimed to improve the health and care experiences of Canadians.
