Alzahra Hudani

Research Fellow

Alzahra is an experienced health services researcher and public health professional who is driven to improve health equity and access to continuous care for populations who face structural and personal barriers to healthcare, both in Canada and globally. She has successfully led community-based and patient-oriented research projects using qualitative methods, mixed-methods and design thinking tools. Over the past 9 years, she has led a broad spectrum of health research in the following areas: global health; maternal, newborn and child health; adolescent health; health systems strengthening; gender-based violence; and youth homelessness. Alzahra holds an MPH from Queen’s University and is also completing her PhD in Population Health at the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences, University of Ottawa, where she explored healthcare coordination between the emergency youth shelter and health systems for youth experiencing homelessness in Toronto, particularly through a systems thinking and organizational change lens. At the SE Research Centre, Alzahra will use her mixed-methods research skills to support the design, implementation and mobilization of participatory research aimed to improve health and care experiences of Canadians.
