Fabio Robibaro

CAnD3 Fellow

Fabio Robibaro is a PhD student in Sociology at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on caregiver mental health, with particular attention to how care needs are measured and translated into policy and practice within health and social care systems. Fabio’s work draws on large-scale survey data to examine caregiver distress, constrained choice, and the organization of care across home, community, and institutional settings. Fabio’s previous research has contributed to the development of a new conceptual framework for the care economy at Statistics Canada, focusing on how care is defined, measured, and operationalized within national data systems. Fabio has contributed to multiple applied research projects with public, non-profit, and academic partners, including the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence, Statistics Canada, and university-based research centres, with a strong emphasis on translating evidence into policy-relevant insights. Fabio joins the SE Research Centre as a Consortium on Analytics in Data-Driven Decision-Making (CAnD3) Fellow. During his Internship, Fabio will analyze transitional care program data to examine how individuals with complex health and social care needs transition from acute care hospitals to home and community-based settings. This work aims to inform policy and system-level decision-making by strengthening evidence on care trajectories, continuity of care, and strategies to support safe discharge and aging in place in Canada.
