Kate Marr-Laing

CAnD3 Fellow

Kate is a Master of Arts student in the Department of Political Science at McGill University. Their research focuses on how community health needs are understood and communicated to decision-makers in health and social care, particularly through non-profit advocacy networks. Kate's previous work explored how municipal and provincial policy design can better support the health and social integration of older adults and those living with dementia. Kate joins the SE Research Centre as a Consortium on Analytics in Data-Driven Decision-Making (CAnD3) Fellow. Throughout their internship, Kate will support further development of the Long-Term Life Care At Home Model by exploring the provision and impact of therapeutic recreation for persons living in facility-based long-term care settings. This research aims to support equitable access to high-quality aging care in Canada and expand options for care in home and community. Follow Kate on Twitter @katemarrlaing.
