Ryan is a graduate of York University's Master of Health program, specializing in health policy and equity. Stemming from an interest in justice, language, and power, Ryan's research applies an equity lens to understand how policy and practice affect clients, caregivers, and care providers . As a Research Associate in the SE Research Centre, Ryan supports to health services research projects that focus on understanding the contemporary challenges of healthcare delivery and developing innovative solutions for transformative system redesign to improve quality of care and systems improvement. He is also a co-chair for the Canadian Aging Action, Research, and Education (CAARE) for Mental Health Group, a group of experts-by-experience facilitated by SERC, who are committed to mobilizing knowledge and influencing positive change for aging and mental health support, care and treatment in Canada.
