[NOW CLOSED] 2023 SE Research Centre Graduate Student Awards
The SE Research Centre is excited to announce the launch of its 2023 SE Research Centre Graduate Student Awards. Two awards ($2,500 CAD each) are available and will be granted to 1 Master’s and 1 PhD student to help offset costs associated with graduate student thesis projects that address one or more of the following priority areas of the SE Research Centre:
- Aging in Society
- Dying, Death and Grief
- Models of Care Delivery
- Health and Care Experiences
About the SE Research Centre
The SE Research Centre conducts impact-oriented health services research and evaluation to impact how people live and age at home and in their communities in Canada and around the world.
Our purpose is to respond to the needs of people, their caregivers, and health and social care providers, to develop evidence-based solutions to tough health and social care problems.
Our goal is to synthesize, generate, translate, adapt and mobilize scientific evidence in the co-design, implementation, and evaluation of person and family-centred health and social care services.

The Opportunity
Master’s and PhD students who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents and are currently enrolled in a thesis-based degree program at a Canadian University are eligible to apply for the Awards.
The Awards are meant to help students to be successful in conducting high quality thesis research that has the potential to create positive health system change. Award money could be used for, but is not limited to*: participant honoraria; open-access publication fees; transcription costs; translation costs; conference registration fees; and graphic design for knowledge mobilization materials.
*Award money is not to be used to support travel costs (e.g., hotel, airfare/train/mileage, meal expenses), equipment or software purchases, graduate student fees/tuition, purchase of textbooks or other school supplies.
